Cayman Islands Shopping

For the shopping enthusiast, duty-free port status means reduced prices on traditional duty-free items such as watches, china and crystal, perfumes and fine jewelry.

There are several galleries that feature local art and finely wrought local crafts. Local specialties include fine art, underwater photography and prints, wood crafts, jewelry and rum products.

While The Cayman Islands limits the number of cruise passengers that may visit the island to 6,500 each day, you may want to avoid shopping in George Town on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, traditionally the busiest days in port.

Downtown stores are closed on Sunday.
