Collecting artwork from different locales around the world can be a wonderful way to preserve memories of amazing getaways. If you and your loved ones plan on reserving a scenic Caribbean villa on the island of Barbados in the future, you may wish to check out the area's annual CaFa Fine Art Fair held every March. This event embodies the Caribbean spirit by offering locals and tourists a chance to see some amazing work by talented artists who reside on the islands.

This will be the second running of the art fair, following its great success in 2011 as a premier event for viewing, trading and buying art in the region. Artists from more than a dozen Caribbean countries will be represented at the exhibits, some of them seasoned veterans and others that are up and coming talents. You can peruse the art showings and attend various activities taking place during the five-day spectacle. Some of the other things happening during CaFa include a live painting demonstration set to exotic music and a special panel discussion that will offer insight to the evolution of Caribbean art.

Even if you cannot make the art fair, there still are plenty of opportunities to see some great pieces throughout Barbados. For example, the Tides Art Gallery, located on the western side of the island, boasts a wonderfully calm environment where guests can view some colorful, local paintings. Not only does the gallery have many pieces on display and for sale, you can also have a cocktail or some fresh seafood at the Tides Restaurant, which has art on the walls and delicious dishes for patrons to sample.

When you return to your Caribbean vacation villa after a day of sightseeing, you may realize that your getaway home is a work of art itself.
