"My boyfriend and I recently came back form a trip to Virgin Gorda and loved it. We stayed at Mikaya on Leverick Bay form 11/18 - 11/25. I've been on many vacations in the Caribbean, but this is truly the first time I can say that booking the trip was one of the best parts.

Working with Island Hideaways has been a pleasure, particularly dealing with Amy Boerner. Amy answered all of my questions promptly and professionally. And, believe me; I had quite a few questions since this was my first experience renting a villa! She also confirmed my reservations with the ferry service and booked our jeep for the week. I originally thought that I was expecting too mush when I asked Amy to do me these favors, however, she said it was her pleasure and asked if I needed anything else. My boyfriend can attest to the fact that I'm very picky when it comes to the customer. So as you can imagine, Amy not only met my expectations but exceeded them!

We were pleasantly surprised to find the villa was even prettier in person than it was in the pictures. It was clean, the maids were extremely friendly, the view was great, and we loved both the pool and the hot tub. We couldn't have asked for better weather and, believe me, we got in a lot of beach time. Some days we spent at the beach and some days we spent being completely lazy at the villa. Our vacation was wonderful.

Blackstone has commanding views of the Caribbean Sea, and a unique design. A curved bridge connects the floating living room and dining room. The large, pebbled pool wraps around a huge dramatic black stone that serves as the pool's centerpiece and the home's namesake. The home has five artfully decorated bedrooms, each with its own private bath and veranda. Blackstone provides guests with the highest standard of luxury and service.

Fosters House on Barbados is a beautiful new villa located in one of the island's most exclusive areas. Maid and cook services are provided. This British plantation-style home features four bedrooms with ensuite baths. Fosters House has all the amenities including a stunning pool with Jacuzzi and large sun deck and even an exercise room.

Villa of the Month: Four Seasons Resort Villas, Nevis

Island Hideaways is proud to present these ultra-luxurious villas located at the fabled Four Seasons Resort on the island of Nevis in the West Indies. The Four Seasons is one of the Caribbean's most exclusive resorts known for its quality, privacy, and world-class amenities. Guests of the villas enjoy complete access to all the resort's amenities.

These amenities include world-class golf, sports, spa treatments, and gourmet dining. The resort's 18-hole golf course offers stunning ocean views and a challenging course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Tennis lovers will find ten tennis courts, six hard court and four red clay, a number of which offer night play. The Four Seasons has two free-form infinity-edge pools including one on the beach surrounded by a heart-shaped teak sundeck. Guests can take advantage of a number of complimentary water sports such as snorkeling equipment, sailboards, catamarans, boogie boards, and kayaks. The resort offers three different villa rentals. The villas at Mahogany Hill Estate sit 320 feet above the Caribbean Sea to take advantage of the breathtaking views. Guests can lounge on the spacious terraces surrounding the pool and luxuriate in the views. The three- to five-bedroom villas at Mahogany Hill Estate are built in the manner of British plantation homes and are surrounded by lush landscaped gardens.

Another wonderful villa choice is the Sunset Hill location. These private two- to five-bedroom homes are located in the center of the resort's fabled golf course. Guests enjoy stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and Mount Nevis from the wide veranda. These beautiful villas feature cathedral ceilings, fully equipped gourmet kitchens, and tastefully decorated bedrooms with ensuite baths.

The Palm Grove Villas offer guests wonderful views of the golf course and Nevis Peak. These two-bedroom villas are located close to the golf course's first tee. Palm Grove villas have beautifully decorated interiors with cathedral ceilings, open gourmet kitchen, and two full marble baths. The master bathroom has its own soaking tub and separate walk-in shower. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed while the second bedroom has two twin beds. The villas also have a host of amenities such as plunge pool, multiple TVs, DVD, and CD.

Restaurant of the Month: Mangos, Four Seasons Resort, Nevis

Part of the Four Seasons Resort on Nevis, Mangos sits on beautiful Pinney's Beach, adjacent to the golf course's 18th hole. Here diners savor not only the quality seafood specialties but also the awesome views of the nearby island of St. Kitts. The bar and lounge are decorated in a nautical theme and feature signature drinks such as the mangojito, the bar's take on the classic Cuban mojito, and the Tipsy Palmer.

Mangos is known for its excellent grilled fresh seafood and fish, all flavored with a taste of the tropics like coconut, mango and passionfruit. Start your meal with lobster and pumpkin fritters or conch fritters. Other appetizers include bouillabaisse, fried calamari, tiger shrimp on sugar cane skewers, and a crab and mango dip. The blackened mahi mahi is served with fungi, the Caribbean cornmeal specialty that is cooked in a casserole. The menu also features chicken roti (curried chicken served with jasmine rice, and mango chutney), rum-glazed baby back ribs, juicy burgers, and Caribbean spice chicken.

Mangos serves lunch, dinner, and brunch, and reservations are a must.

Passport Reminder

Effective January 8, 2007 all travelers must present a passport to enter the United States. This includes U.S. citizens returning from the Caribbean. Obtaining a passport can take a month or more so plan ahead for winter holidays in the Caribbean.
