Tryall's golf course is considered one of the top golf courses in the world. Renowned golf course designer Ralph Plummer created the par 71, 6,920-yard course in 1958. Tryall has hosted any number of championships including the Jamaica Classic and the Johnnie Walker World Championship. The challenging golf course features a front nine that begins at sea level and makes its way up into the hills to the back nine. Hole four is the club's signature hole, a par 3 in which golfers play across the Flint River to the green on the other side. Sloping greens and the prevailing trade winds test the metal of even golf's luminaries. Golfers who want to improve their skills can also choose to take lessons from the pros in residence. Once you've played the course, you'll understand why it was awarded best golf course of the year in 2005 by the Caribbean Travel Awards--just one of many accolades Tryall has earned over the years. Tennis players have much to keep them on their game here as well. Tryall is considered one of the world's top 75 tennis resorts in the world. The club has nine courts, four clay and five Nova Cushion. Guests can play day or night--two of the courts are lighted for night play. Players can test their skill against each other in the weekly tournaments. Those wanting some advice on their swing can take advantage of the weekly clinics and private lessons that are offered.
