Tennis
Regarded as having one of the top tennis programs among resorts in the world,
La Terraza Tennis Center features 13 HAR-TRU clay courts, 10 of which
have spotlights for nighttime play, and a staff large enough to cater
to the needs of all guests. Great for individuals, couples, or the
whole family, this facility provides specialized instruction for both
adults and children. Sign up for a private lesson with a pro or place
your child in a clinic. Don't bother chasing down errant shots; there
are ball boys to do that for you. And with a view of the Caribbean
Sea in the distance, you'll marvel at the incredible setting when
you take a break from the action. It's no wonder Travel + Leisure
magazine dubbed the center "the Wimbledon of the Caribbean."
An afternoon on the courts will surely build up an appetite. With the newly remodeled El Pescador Restaurant featuring chef Paul Scordino of Manhattan's famed Le Cirque, Casa de Campo has you covered. La Casita de Don Alfredo
Situated in the stunning Playa Cabarete area, this home-style local favorite specializes in seafood and Italian cuisine and offers a unique décor, featuring walls with hand-painted porcelain collected during the owners' trips to Italy and Spain. On the deck with views of the beach is the preferred place to dine, although the restaurant also has a second indoor level with additional seating. La Casita is known to offer the best shrimp dishes in the Caribbean, so it's no surprise that the signature plate in the restaurant is a skillet of prawns sautéed in coconut-cream sauce. Other house favorites include fish dumplings, Lobster Thermidor, filet of sea bass meuniére, and grilled salmon with white wine and herbs.
La Casita is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. In high season, be sure to make reservations if you want to dine at one of the coveted tables on the porch.
