St. Martin Beaches

There are many beautiful white sand beaches on St. Martin/St. Maarten.

Recommended St. Martin Beaches (French side)

Note: The beaches on the French side are more liberal with topless sunbathing commonplace.

Baie Longue

The beautiful beach at Long Bay is the largest on St. Martin. For a wonderful beach stroll, walk around Canonnier Point to Plum Bay Beach, a surfing hot spot.

Baie Rouge

The rock formations at both ends of this beach provide interesting snorkeling and diving.

Anse de Peres

Friar's Bay is fringed with a pretty, protected beach. There is a path to Happy Bay with its coconut trees and white sand.

Orient Beach

This beach is the most well known of St. Martin's beaches. The famous nude beach is near the Club Orient. Gawkers are not encouraged. If you desire quieter beaches, there are lovely spots nearby such as Green Cay.

St. Maarten Beaches (Dutch side):

Mullet Bay Beach

This palm-lined stretch of beach offers water sports equipment rentals.·

Dawn Beach

There are reefs just offshore that make this white sandy beach great for snorkelers. Check out the hermit crab races.

Oyster Pond Beach

There is enough wave action here for body surfing.

Cupecoy Bay Beach

This popular beach backs up to sandstone cliffs and caves.
