All of the beaches in St. Thomas are open to the public. Take time to visit one or all of the following.
Recommended Beaches in St. Thomas
Magens Bay, North side
This is St. Thomas' most popular beach and is called one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The water is usually very calm with no waves or current, great for floating along and for swimming. There is also a watersports booth that rents paddle boats, kayaks and sunfish. Beach chairs, floats and snorkel sets are also available for a fee. Be prepared to pay a parking/entrance fee upon arrival.
Smith Bay Park (formerly Lindquist Beach), East End
This beach is located on the East end of St. Thomas, off of Smith Bay Road. The shore at this beach is covered in bright white sand with a faint touch of pink. This is a popular swimming and sunning area, known for calm, terrifically blue water. And heading West the swimming area gives way to another area of the beach, a very shallow shelf that extends for the remainder of the bay
Sapphire Beach, East End
Sapphire Beach is a lovely white sand beach with wonderful swimming in crystal clear water. On this pretty white sand beach, the sea grape trees offer shade to those seeking a step back from the sun. Windsurfers enjoy the steady breezes and a large reef close to shore provides good snorkeling. There is a watersports booth, which rents wind surfing equipment, kayaks, jet skis, and offers parasailing. This makes Sapphire a perfect beach for relaxing and for enjoying watersports alike.
Secret Harbour Beach, East End
Protected by the bay, the water at Secret Harbour is usually very calm; perfect for swimming. Snorkeling is good along the rocky coastline on the right side of the bay. A floating raft anchored in the middle of the bay is great for laying out and catching some rays. While the beach facilities here are geared more to hotel guests, there are windsurfers and floats available to the public for rent. Overall, Secret Harbor is a great beach for snorkeling, swimming, having lunch, a few drinks, and relaxing!
Coki Beach
Coki Beach is located next to Coral World and is good but can be crowded when cruise ships are in port.
Stouffer Grand Beach
Stouffer Grand Beach is one of the island's most beautiful beaches.
Morningstar Beach
Morningstar Beach near the Frenchman's Reef Hotel is noted for bikini watching. Sailboards, sailboats, and snorkeling gear are available to rent.
Hull Bay
Surfers will want to head here as this is considered the best surfing in St. Thomas (especially in winter!)
Lindbergh Bay
Near the Airport, this beach offers water skiing, jet skiing and wave runners.
