Just-built Island Views is the grand result of luxury island living and excellent design for serene relaxation, indoors and out. Waterfront on its own promontory, and sleekly built around a beautifully-furnished Great Room which flows gracefully out to a heated pool, sun decks, and wide-angled sea vistas, Island Views offers two levels surrounded by inspiring ocean views, all within a few minutes' walk to three white-sand beaches and nearby Chenay Bay Resort.

The elegant Great Room features a captivating blend of tropical rattan, sink-into sofas, West Indian and other antique pieces, accented by fine fabrics, original art, and an entire wall of custom bookcases fashioned of andiroba wood. A desk with a computer and printer is opposite, with a powder room nearby. The Great Room is fully air-conditioned, but french doors on the ocean side are made to be thrown open to St. Croix's refreshing tradewinds; they lead out to the sun deck and heated swimming pool, which are sited just a few feet from the water's edge (artfully lighted at night for your pleasure).

Off the Great Room's east side are the spacious, airy gourmet kitchen and dining area - and what a chef's delight! Well laid out and wonderfully equipped with the best of almost everything, this room is air-conditioned but also dotted with generous windows and french doors to invite sea views, breeze and light in. A breakfast bar with stools separates the kitchen area from dining. The dining area is set with a large round table surrounded by french doors which open out to the pool deck one on side, and from the other sides, to an enticing oceanside patio with cushioned sitting areas and chaise lounges for cocktails, sunning and admiring the passing parade of yachts across the glittering expanse of sea. A gas grill and large teak table also awaits for alfresco dining on the patio. From this area, along the east side of Island Views, is a smaller patio to catch the breeze, and a sunken hot tub tucked into the garden. On the opposite side of the pool deck, near the pool's reclining Buddha and waterfall, is the air-conditioned, mirrored exercise room with yet more marine vistas framed by large windows.

Back in the Great Room, a limestone welcoming-arms staircase gracefully ascends to Island Views' two bedroom/bath suites above. Island Views' cool and breezy upper level boasts a bird's-eye view of the pool and patio below, and longer-distance views of Green Cay beyond to the far horizon. A wide covered balcony with cushioned chaises and benches connects the two suites, but both bedrooms are so well separated that one suite cannot be seen from the other, providing excellent privacy for couples. The inviting Buck Island Suite features air-conditioning, banks of louvered, screened windows handcrafted from exotic andiroba wood, and a handsome tiled ensuite bath with twin vessel sinks and a luxurious shower. The air-conditioned Chenay Bay suite features a queen four-poster bed, wide, arched louvered windows showcasing the wonderful views, and a tiled bath with a vessel sink; a glass block half-wall divides the vanity area from the large shower.

Island Views is superlative in every way. The villa is sited on its promontory to provide a breathtaking backdrop panorama of blue ocean and sky, with an artful floor plan providing spacious living areas inside and out and excellent privacy. Tasteful interiors are beautifully executed with fine furnishings and accessories, providing elegant and peaceful oases for rest and relaxation throughout the villa. Handsome African sapele wood ceilings add drama, with artistic lighting featured inside and out, and a collection of original Caribbean art adds a polished finish. And its location, within easy, short walks to beaches and resort amenities, is a rare treat for guests.
