Recommended Restaurants in St. John
Morgan's Mango

(340) 693-8141
One of the most popular restaurants on the island among both tourists and locals, this restaurant in Cruz Bay is well known for its excellent service, wonderful Caribbean food, and reasonable prices. From Creole and Cuban to Jamaican and Haitian, the chefs here cover it all, hence its boast of offering "Cuisines of the Caribbean." Here is a first-hand account of a visit to the restaurant from an Island Hideaway's Villa Specialist:
"After a full day of site inspections, we decided to search for a restaurant that could satisfy all of our tastes. We previewed the extensive menu at Morgan's Mango and agreed that it offered something that would appeal to everyone in our group. By the end of the night we would be quite satisfied with our choice.
Located in Cruz Bay across from the National Park dock, Morgan's Mango offers a romantically lit environment and a casually chic atmosphere. We started out with some appetizers and drinks at the bar which wraps around the main dining room. From the traditional (Sangria) to the more exotic (Mango Margarita), the frozen drinks menu is impressive. And the main menu is just as diverse. If you want to keep it simple, the grilled Mahi Mahi is outstanding. If, on the other hand, you want to try something a little different, I recommend the Flying Fish appetizer. We were also very pleased with the staff, which provided great service and hospitality. I'd definitely go back."
Morgan's Mango is open daily from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is available for private functions. Due to the restaurant's popularity, reservations are highly recommended.
Lime Inn, Cruz Bay
http://limeinn.com/
(340) 776-6425
Check out the LIME INN (Cruz Bay) for the Wednesday - All You Can Eat Shrimp - this is a well known favorite - get there early!! (Tip: There is a 1 hour photo developer in the courtyard - have your pictures developed while you eat! Just don't forget to pick them up...)
One of the longest-running restaurants in St. John, this local favorite has an open-air design that encourages a laid-back atmosphere and a prime location in downtown Cruz Bay. The attire is casual, which is not surprising considering that the restaurant's name is a play on the word "limin," local slang for relaxing. The décor of the restaurant features ceiling fans, hanging plants, and a terrace for outdoor dining built around the trunk of a towering lemon tree.
Specializing in fresh local seafood, The Lime Inn is known for its Caribbean-style lobster, served split and grilled. Also, shrimp-lovers would be remiss to skip the all-you-can-eat shrimp feast on Wednesday evenings. Be forewarned, the popularity of this promotion draws large crowds. Diners who do not care for seafood also have excellent options, such as Black Angus New York Strip and Stuffed Filet Mignon (served un-stuffed upon request) as well as pasta and chicken dishes. For dessert, try the homemade Frozen Key Lime Pie covered with graham cracker crust and topped with whipped cream.
The Lime Inn is available to host private parties and functions. The restaurant also takes and, indeed, recommends reservations because it can get quite crowded due to its relatively small size.
