St. Croix

St. Croix is the largest of the 3 US Virgin Islands and is known for the culinary experience it provides to its visitors. The island is dripping with wonderful food and wine from around the globe. Among a multitude of flavors, St. Croix is spattered with original Caribbean fusion, French, Thai and American restaurants. Read the full St. Croix Destination Guide for more information.

St. John

Looking for ample natural beauty, little distraction, and a true Caribbean experience? Go to St. John. This might just be the most beautiful island I’ve visited. Two thirds of St. John's territory is made up of US National Parkland, so development on the island is limited. As such, the views are amazingly beautiful with untouched forest and beaches everywhere you turn. Don’t worry though, the island isn’t entirely secluded. St. John offers amazing beaches (check out Trunk Bay), water sports, restaurants, and shopping. Read the full St. John Destination Guide for more information.

St. Thomas

St. Thomas is the most developed of the 3 USVI islands and is perfect for families looking for plenty of activities! The island offers ample shopping, restaurants, beaches, night life and sports. I recommend Magens Bay if you are looking to get some sunshine and go for a swim. It is on the north side of the island and is St. Thomas’ most popular beach (for good reason)! Long stretches of surgary sand and warm turquoise water with few waves or current makes it perfect for swimming, paddle boating, kayaking and snorkeling. More on the US Virgin Islands

Because the USVI is a United States Territory, travel from the mainland is very easy – and no passport is required!  However, "island hopping" is also a very easy (and fun) activity to do once you’ve arrived in the USVI. Because the islands are so close together, you can easily charter a yacht to sail from one island to another, or take the car barge to transfer between islands. If you prefer air transportation, you can go for a helicopter tour or take a ride in a sea plane.

I recommend taking a ride on a sea plane. If you’ve never done it, you should – It is an exciting experience you shouldn’t miss out on!

The US Virgin Islands

I’ve heard that each of the US Virgin Islands has a character all of their own, and after visiting, I can confirm that this is a very true statement. This past June, I visited St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas and was blown away by the difference (and amazing beauty) of each island.
