Caribbean Pearl

East End, North Shore, St. Croix

If you love coastal cottage charm, abundant outdoor living space, and unforgettable views, pick Caribbean Pearl for your next St. Croix vacation. Located on the north side of the island’s elite east end, this gingerbread-trimmed West Indian style villa rises above the coast to directly face the sea and Buck Island Reef National Monument.

Pass through twin pillars up a hibiscus-lined drive to the crest of the hill and pull into the parking courtyard alongside this cream-colored villa accented by robin’s egg blue shutters. Through French doors into the main house, enter an open plan great room with soaring white beams and rafters fitted with island-style ceiling fans.

Floors are paved in cool clay tiles and walls are citrus-toned to glow softly against the aqua sea views ahead. A fresh white kitchen with seashell tile trim has a complete kit for the cooks and plentiful storage for vacation treats.

Just outside a triple set of French doors from the great room is a huge outdoor gallery and exceptionally convenient pool—no steps to contend with when you head outdoors. And what a straight-on view you have of Buck Island—it’s mesmerizing whether you’re swinging in the hammock, cooling off in the pool after a busy day, or sipping a glass of wine before an alfresco dinner.

Flanking the great room are matching bedroom suites, one on each side, open and airy throughout. To the right is a master bedroom with four-poster king bed and a butter yellow bathroom and shower. To the left is a twin-bedded suite with color fabrics and artwork, including whimsical painted waves lapping across the walls—and a breezy shower with a view of the sea. Each has its own patio sitting area looking toward the sea.
Separated from the main house a few steps away is a cottage housing a third bedroom in blue, with space galore, a private bath, and almost-outdoor shower. As with the other two bedrooms, French doors lead to a separate patio and outdoor living area facing the north shore.

After watching boats come and go to the beach at Buck Island, no doubt you’ll want to plan a trip there yourself, easily arranged with departures from the nearby St. Croix Yacht Club, Green Cay Marina, or Christiansted town, all a short ride from your villa. You might also want to schedule a day of deep sea fishing, kayaking, or Scuba diving—St. Croix is well known for its exceptional water sports.

When the trees in your villa garden are bearing fruit, pick the freshest possible ingredients and make a key lime pie. Or, cut a blossom to tuck behind your ear for a night out at one of St. Croix’s nearby fine restaurants followed by a game of chance at the casino, just moments away by car. You’ll feel like royalty—both at play and when you return at the end of the day—in your getaway at Caribbean Pearl.

St. Croix

The largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Croix is a picturesque escape, with rolling hills, charming Old World towns, and a dense, 15-acre tropical forest. It features top-notch beaches, exceptional recreational activities, wonderful dining, and unique attractions like Buck Island Reef National Monument and Whim Plantation, a cultural landmark that was once a Danish sugar plantation.
