BellamareMahoe Bay, Virgin GordaBellamare is a 4030 square foot Mediterranean style villa that provides the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty with contemporary domestic comforts. In addition to the wonders of the natural world, Bellamare offers a lovely pool, coralstone decking, poolside wet bar and gas grill, a sun deck and an additional 1400 square feet of outdoor seating. Included in the outdoor area is a covered verandah which runs the length of the main house and faces Mahoe Bay. In addition to the wet bar and gas grill, the verandah is furnished with a teak dining table that will seat 10, as well as a seating area adjacent to the pool and sun deck for reading or relaxing.
The villa consists of a two story main house and a guest house which are linked together by the pool and a covered walkway.
The first floor of the main house is done in Spanish tile and includes a gourmet kitchen with architectural glass tiles on the counters and a stainless steel gas cook top in the island, a dining room with seating for 8 to 10 at a wrought iron and purpleheart table designed for the villa, and a living area with comfortable furniture, entertainment center, and game table. A complete library of books, games and videos is provided for guests, as well as pool floats, beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel equipment and beach toys.
The internal stairs to the second floor provide the transition to the tranquil master bedroom and guest bedroom suites. The floors are tropical wood and the general feeling is one of airiness and cool breezes. The furniture in the master bedroom was custom made of natural mahogany in a classic, almost Shaker design and the linens use soft pastel colors of green, aqua, and cream. It also has a lovely balcony that looks out over Mahoe Bay and stunning sunsets, as well as an ensuite bath and walk-in-closet.
The guest bedroom can be set up in a king bed configuration or as two extra-long twins and has an ensuite bath and walk-in-closet. The guest bedroom, like the master bedroom, has an intricate cathedral ceiling of cypress which, when combined with the arched windows and south west light and views, creates the feeling of a sanctuary.
The guest house is also two stories and while the floorplan is identical on both floors, each room possesses a unique look. You can enter the first floor from either the balcony which faces Mahoe Bay or the patio in the back of the guest house which provides a lovely shaded sitting area in the heat of the day. The first floor bedroom has the same tile floor found in the main house and uses cream, aqua, and plum as the key colors. It contains a king size bed, a bath with el fresco shower done in aqua tile from Italy, a walk in closet, and a mini-bar for late night drinks, or early morning coffee.
The second floor is entered through its own covered porch facing the water and also has a small Romeo and Juliet balcony that over looks the mountain behind the house. It has a tropical wood floor and is done in brighter colors of blue, turquoise, purple and lime. It contains a queen size bed, a bath with el fresco shower done in lime tile, a walk-in-closet and mini-bar. This room has ample space for either an additional twin bed or a crib.
