Hakuna Matata

Completed in late 1999, this large and exquisite villa enjoys cooling trade winds and complete privacy from its locale on a green hillside above idyllic Cinnamon Beach.

As you enter the garden courtyard through dramatic 13-foot handcarved doors, you are greeted by fountains and flowering tropical gardens. On one side, the Great Room offers terraces for alfresco dining in a garden setting, and opens to the professional gourmet kitchen, well equipped with the very best to please chefs of all persuasions.

Across the courtyard is the handicapped-accessible and equipped bedroom/bath suite; a gently sloping walkway leads you to the level below where you'll find a small lawn, a freeform pool with a children's shallow area adjoining, a waterfall and hot tub artistically set into natural boulders, and another bedroom/bath suite.

A staircase in the entry courtyard leads upstairs to two more bedroom bath suites, one a very spacious master with his and hers separate baths.

Hakuna Matata, Swahili for "no worries," is beautifully fashioned and finely detailed with deluxe furnishings, native stonework, Moroccan tiles, and a state-of-the-art music system; each fully screened bedroom has its own private terrace, and all main rooms are air conditioned.

Arches frame the breathtaking views of Cinnamon Beach, Drake's Passage, and the ribbon of islets and cays beyond from this impressive new luxury villa. This is truly one of the premier villas on St. John.
