“A marvelous time was had by all. Everything exceeded our expectations (and they were high). The houses were beautiful, the setting divine, Chef Mimi is a lovely woman with super staff and the staff for Aquamare were great also. Gino did a masterful job of keeping things always moving upward and onward. Also had a wonderful evening with Morris Mark. He came and played steel drums with just one other person and it was exactly what I had hoped for. Just pure steel drums. Magnificent!” J. Wilson

Reviews for Baraka Point, Virgin Gorda

“I was just going to send you a message and let you know how Baraka Point was.....ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Baraka Point is THE place to go. I can't begin to describe everything and do it justice...the views, beaches, snorkeling & diving, massages and sunsets. Oh, and did I mention the food! Not one of us were ready to leave on Monday and I think if it hadn't been booked we would have stayed longer! The couple that run the house and handle all activities and cooking were delightful and wonderful cooks. They prepared meals that looked and tasted like they were out of Bon Appetite! It was definitely a Christmas we will always remember....and a place we plan to return to again soon.”

“I just wanted to take a minute to thank each of you for the parts that you played in our recently concluded vacation on Virgin Gorda. We all had a great time and Beach Dreams was exactly as advertised by Paul. In wandering around the island, none of us saw any other area where we would have preferred to have stayed. Thanks again. ” Charles T. / Orlando, FL

“My wife and I consider Virgin Gorda to be our favorite vacation distination. And you cannot find a better location than Caribbean Wind villa-right on beautiful Maho Bay beach. Snorkel in your back yard, lounge under a massive covered patio, enjoy a pool-side massage or barbeque. My favorite thing about Virgin Gorda When you go to the beach, you are often the only one there. Go to Virgin Gorda. Stay at Caribbean Wind Villa.” Raymond C.

“We got back from our vacation last Friday and I had to write to tell you what a wonderful time we had. From the moment we were on the dock in Tortola we were vacationing, enjoying the sun and meeting wonderful people. We loved the villa so much. The location was perfect, with easy access and beautiful views. We had a great time snorkeling, exploring the island and finding fun places to eat. We ate at a few places close by and even went out to Bitter End one night for a barbecue and then to Saba Rock to listen to the steel drum band. We had met the lead member, Ezeron, when we were enjoying the view from one of the sites. He was working on the road and came to say hello and invite us to Saba Rock. We found this kind of friendliness throughout all of Virgin Gorda. We were always greeted with much warmth and hospitality. My children kept saying they loved the water and the people most of all. Clarkie came with his wife on our last two nights and our meal was as you had said wonderful and delicious. He was very talented, friendly and seemed to cook with ease. He looks forward to meeting you on your visit in July. We also chartered a boat from the Double D with Corin. She was delightful and very knowledgeable. We snorkeled all over and had lunch at the Willie T. It was such a fun day. On our departure day our ferry made a few stops before heading to Tortola. At one of the stops some of the local people whom we had met came running out to say good bye and told us to please come back. We were all very touched. Well I could go on and on. We would love to go back to Virgin Gorda and as soon as we can swing it, I would like to start planning our trip for next year. Thank you so much for your help. It was truly a magical week.” Sally L. / Amherst, NH

“The out-island of Virgin Gorda is just a delightful escape--only eight square miles, a small population centered in Spanish Town, and the rest a few resorts and villas scattered among otherwise unpeopled hills. Our home for the week in the Nail Bay resort was truly unique: a round stone replica of one of the sugar mills active there in the 1800s. We two and another couple each had our own living unit-in-the-round, beautifully appointed with a huge, wonderfully comfortable bed surrounded by all the amenities we needed. From the bed we could look out on the azure-and-turquoise Caribbean and some of the other islands in the Virgins. A few steps beyond the doors was a small but idyllic pool. Atop the living units was an open rooftop designed to resemble Stonehenge. Up there were lounge chairs, a grill, tables, and--believe it or not--a little pool looking out on Paradise! Geez! We swam and snorkeled at the beach, a 10-minute walk down the mountain, read and relaxed, visited other parts of the island (the North Sound is superb). And one of us (Bill) hiked a trail through thick, lush vegetation up to Gorda Peak, and on two mornings humped up the mountain near our villa on an unfinished road that led around the peak to reveal a panoramic view of the islands beyond the north shore. Negatives? Only minor ones attributable mostly to the spoiled and inflexible nature of many Americans. The food around the island was a bit disappointing--not surprising given that it was the slow (read "hurricane") season and that all foodstuffs must come here via boat. The food in the Nail Bay restaurant was a bit short on variety and a bit long on curry. And it was hard getting used to "island time," including long waits in restaurants to be served and to receive the bill. At Little Dix Bay, a resort built by Laurance Rockefeller, I grew a beard waiting for a drink. But I am not the most patient of humans, I'll admit. And it takes me more than a week to "get down." Our home for the week was no more than 70 feet from another place, but thick vegetation, including many flowering plants, made it all but invisible--just one example of the privacy of the Sugar Mill villa and most places on Gorda. The Nail Bay restaurant was a short walk for us, and all the people at the resort, from the manager to the gal in the office to the guys building a better road to the closest beach, were genuinely friendly and supremely helpful. Would we go back? In half a heartbeat.” Bill & Rita Rooney
